Jacksonville Junior Roller Derby (Duval) would like to offer our heartfelt apology...

Jacksonville Junior Roller Derby (Duval) would like to offer our heartfelt apology for our parents’ poor behavior at the Spring Break Swarm 2017 tournament in Tampa, Florida earlier this month.

We specifically apologize to the California Mayhem and their skater who was bullied, Tampa Junior Roller Derby, all participating leagues that were affected by this behavior and the Junior Roller Derby Association.

The behavior of those individuals was shocking, utterly embarrassing, and in no way reflects what we teach our skaters or our core values as a league. Additionally having the misbehavior publicly broadcast live over the internet, shines a very harsh light on our league as a representative of junior roller derby, JRDA, Florida roller derby, and the city we live in.

We are truly ashamed. We have been working closely with JRDA on this matter, and in conjunction with them, have issued four parent suspensions, four skater suspensions, and our league as a whole (parents, skaters, coaches, and officials) will complete anti-bullying coursework. We hope this will serve to better our attitudes and our conduct in the future.

We are very sorry,
Jacksonville Junior Roller Derby Board of Directors
