Age of Participants - Effective Sept 1st, 2017

A Junior Event is defined by the age of the participants.

  • Players age 17 and under are eligible to participate as team-rostered skaters for all games and events.
  • Players that reach age 18 during the season (including the first day of the season) are eligible to participate as team-rostered skaters for games and events that occur during the remainder of the current competitive season. Players are no longer eligible and may not participate as team-rostered skaters in games or events if their 18th birthday occurred before the start of the current competitive season.
  • There are no age requirements for members that participate in non-rostered skater roles, e.g.: Announcers, bench staff, officials, bout production crew, etc.

Example:
Troy turns age 18 on Nov 25 this year. Troy may continue to play JRDA roller derby until the end of the current competitive season. Since Troy will be 18 before the start of the following competitive season, Troy may no longer participate as a team-rostered skater beyond the current season.
