Jane Van Stelle Haded joins the JRDA as the new Treasurer starting the 2018 Competitive Season.

As a kid, Jane loved playing “prisoner” dodgeball, flag football, and volleyball all of which she played through college. Her husband boxed, and her son played hockey so it didn’t come as a surprise when her 11 year old daughter rented the film ‘Whip It’ and said she wanted to play the full contact sport of roller derby.

The following year her daughter joined one of the Chicago-area junior roller derby leagues, the Chicago Riots in 2013, and later went on to skate for the Northern Illinois Junior Roller Derby League on their Open division and All Female division teams as well as joining the Chicago Red Hots when she turned 14 (an adult team that plays under the World Skate international rules set).

Jane is the Treasurer for her daughter’s junior league and the bench coach (LUM) for her daughter’s adult league. Jane loves junior roller derby and is very excited to have a hand in helping to grow this youth sport! In her workaday world, Jane is the CFO for a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that provides choral education and performances to bring over 4,500 children together from all over Chicago to inspire and change lives through music.

Her work experience includes several years as a financial services director for a regional YWCA, grant management for the University of Illinois, as well as several years of auditing nonprofit organizations in the Chicagoland area. Jane also has been a troop leader for six years with Girl Scouts USA and is currently assisting eleven scouts with their Gold Award achievement. She has a passion for nonprofit accounting and financial management and believes nonprofits, such as youth sports organizations, are a vital part of our communities.
